Lebanon Ministry of Health, Dictum Health, and International Trading Group Join Efforts to Bring Health Care to Rural and Remote Areas in Lebanon

Dictum Health Inc. – innovators in telehealth's Virtual Exam Room (VER) technology that brings the entire medical team to the point of care – was awarded the first phase pilot project by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) to deploy Dictum Health technology via International Trading Group (ITG) into the health care system.

The focus of this pilot is to deliver specialty medical consultation from expert physicians at major hospitals to remote primary health care clinics using Dictum Health’s IDM100 medical tablet and VER technology. Through this pilot program, rural patients will receive remote clinical care from a major metropolitan hospital. Upon the successful completion of this pilot, additional units will be deployed in primary clinics nationwide.

“By reducing the cost of unnecessary brick and mortar health facilities using telehealth, remote primary health care clinics can scale up health services and offer specialty services to a larger portion of the patient population,” said H.E. Ghassan Hasbani, Minister of Public Health and Deputy Prime Minister. “The path to achieving this objective is through efficient use of technologies such as the Internet of Things, robust telecom infrastructure (mobile and fixed), and a HIPAA-compliant platform that supports virtual exams.”

Dictum Health’s VER allows a remote physician/specialist to examine all patient populations at the point of care from incident, to hospital, to rehab, to home recovery with the same privacy and accuracy of an in-hospital exam. From its virtual waiting room, remote clinicians enter a VER with a patient to conduct a complete clinical examination with simultaneous video conferencing and viewing of diagnostic data and medical images, allowing physicians to assess, diagnose, and recommend treatment.

“I look forward with great excitement to see my organization deliver and support such a revolutionary solution to the public health care system of Lebanon,” said Michel Sawaya, Chairman of ITG. “It is an honor to be part of this transformation and I hope to see the citizens of Lebanon reap tangible benefits in due time.”

Dictum Health’s telehealth platform includes over 14 telemetry and imaging parameters, telecom infrastructure, a web-based Care Central portal, and HIPAA-compliant cloud services. Care Central transfers patient data and medical images to Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

“Dictum Health’s platform can easily scale to cover thousands of locations in need of specialty health services,” said Hakim Alhusan, Vice President of International Sales at Dictum Health. “We are eager to meet the Digital Transformation Initiatives and exponentially increase our operations at primary health care clinics across Lebanon.”
